How do I turn a time clock Excel file into salary?
Export the month from the time clock as Excel, add up each person's normal hours and overtime from the daily rows, multiply by the rate, then take off EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB. What the Excel file usually has
One row per person per day: name, staff number, date, shift, in, out, worked hours, overtime, break and a note such as late, early leave, missed punch or absent. Check that each person has one staff number, because two spellings of a name become two people.
Fix the exceptions before you count
Look at missed punches and absent days first and ask the staff or the supervisor. Decide your rules for lateness and rounding and write them down. Overtime on normal days, rest days and public holidays is paid at different rates, so check the current rules with JTK or your accountant.
From hours to a payslip
Add the hours per person, multiply by the rate, add allowances and overtime, then work out EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB. Keep the Excel file with the payslip so you can answer a question about a day later.

Can I use my fingerprint machine's report?
Most machines export Excel or CSV. A file with one row per person per day is the easiest kind to use. Tell us the machine brand and show us a sample with the names changed.
What if someone forgot to punch?
Fix it before payroll with the supervisor's confirmation, and keep a note of what was changed and why.
