Will my WhatsApp number get banned for auto reply?

It can, if you use an unofficial tool that runs WhatsApp Web on a computer and sends messages from it. The official WhatsApp Business Platform (API) from Meta is safe to automate. The greeting and away messages built into the WhatsApp Business app are also safe.

Why numbers get banned

Many cheap auto reply and blasting tools copy WhatsApp Web and send messages as if a person were typing. This breaks WhatsApp's terms, and numbers that send a lot of unwanted messages or get reported are blocked. You can lose the number your customers know.

Safe ways to automate

Use the greeting message, away message and quick replies in the WhatsApp Business app for simple cases. For real automation, use the WhatsApp Business Platform (API) through Meta or a provider that uses it. Ask any vendor directly whether they use the official API.

Keep the number healthy

Only message people who agreed, reply quickly, and avoid sending the same promotion to many people who never wrote to you. Being blocked or reported often hurts the number.
