Does a small company need to do MyInvois e-Invoice?
No, if your yearly sales are below RM3 million. LHDN raised the exemption from RM1 million to RM3 million from 1 September 2026, and encourages exempt businesses to join voluntarily. What LHDN announced
In late August 2026 LHDN said the government agreed to raise the e-Invoice threshold from RM1 million to RM3 million, from 1 September. Businesses with yearly income or sales below RM3 million are not required to issue e-Invoices, and LHDN strongly encourages them to take part voluntarily. The change was reported by The Star on 30 August 2026 and by Malay Mail on 31 August 2026.
Why you may still want to start
Some customers, especially bigger companies, may ask you for an e-Invoice anyway. Starting early lets you test with a few invoices and fix your TIN and customer details before anyone requires it. The rules have changed several times, so ask your accountant and look at the LHDN e-Invoice page before you decide.

Follow the phase that matches your yearly sales and check the LHDN e-Invoice page for the current dates and relaxation rules, since they have been revised before.
