Will accounting automation mess up my old books?

It should not, if it follows four rules: nothing is written until a person approves it, a mistake can be undone, a cancelled document stays on record, and closed months are locked. In Lucco Boss you reply 1 before anything is issued, you can say undo, voiding keeps the original and months before a close date can be locked. Boss does not edit books kept in other software.

What old books need protecting from

Past months that your accountant has already finished, the numbers on filed returns, and the paper trail for every document. Automation that rewrites any of these is a risk.

What Boss does

Mei prepares a document and shows it to you. It is issued only when you reply 1. If you got it wrong, say undo. Voiding a document keeps the original, and a Credit Note records a correction. The accounting page lets the owner or an admin close the books up to a date, and earlier months are locked until one of them opens it again.

What to check first

Ask your accountant which month is closed and tell Boss to close up to that date. Try the sample books first: on WhatsApp say try being the boss, say three sentences, and open the link to see the profit and loss statement, balance sheet and journal change. Boss does not write into SQL Account or AutoCount yet, so your existing books there are not touched.
